Precisely 2 weeks after order, boards are on my table. Quality, as always, very impressive. Fun fact, 30 small boards cost less than 10 🙂 Stencil, solder paste, some sand and frying pan – and first PCB is ready! After correcting some small issues I noted, what I soldered the wrong microcontroller on! Hot air, …

PCB in production
Very impatiently waiting for PCBs. Small one and stencil already waiting for packaging. 4-layer is still stuck in production. Already started with programming for this board. Decided to try out FreeRTOS, huh, already facing first misunderstandings… Let’s see, if it’ll improve code overall.
VFD driver ready to be ordered
I hope, this thing is ready (after many iterations and small improvements and also multiple new uploads to JLCPCB)… Designed for FV651G display Used PT6315 driver SN6505 push-pull driver to generate 30Vdc anode voltage and 2.7Vac cathode voltage Some LEDs and buttons 3V3 LDO FRAM Oscillators USB with filter Header for 64 pins Place for …
Phono preamp inside!
Finally, I’ve finished the phono preamp and placed it inside this beautiful box. Sounds great!
AVR-Doper STK500
One of my first devices was AVR-Doper STK500… More photos!
Experimenting with SN6505
Last week I played a lot with SN6505 from TI… So much power in so small SOT23-6. First and foremost, power source for VFD display (30VDC anode voltage, and ~2.5VAC for cathode)… Efficiency at max current 95%! Amazing. Let’s try to get more power!
PCBs are here!
Here it is, already with all components: For detailed photos from all PCBs and some from old good Fluke, just:
PCB on the way
This week JLCPCB produced my PCBs, and they are on the way to me. The total time from submitting files to “package shipped” was ~5 days. Because I ordered 3 different PCBs (also 3 different colors), I was interested, how long it takes to produce each color… So, I’ve made a graph, where you can …
PCB ordered
I decided to order multiple PCB, to save some shipping cost, and also to test some my ideas too… One of them – DC-DC push-pull converter on SN6505 to power up my VFD. I ordered some Epcos N87 rings, done some calculations in Lite-CalcIT, also researched some available info, and even found a nice book …
Playing with Fusion 360 (instead of designing electronics)
I have a problem. I already prepared things for Phono Preamp (filled shopping card on Digikey and uploaded gerbers to JLCPCB). But to save on delivery, I wanted to order more PCBs at once… So, I brought to life my old projects. Home audio system Badaboom. I already bought some nice neat VFD displays from …
